This morning special TV reporting was made about North Korea's second nuclear test. Even NHK reported that "in North Korea there seemed to have been a jolt, which might be another nuclear test." However, a series of denials followed at the official level. Both the Japanese and the U.S. governments denied that there was a nuclear test this morning. Actually, even the first nuclear test is increasingly in doubt, as the U.S. government has expressed the opinion that the first one was most likely a failure in view of the smaller-than-expected explosion in North Korea. In any case, it is necessary to collect information and data carefully so as to make prudent decisions for effective actions against North Korea without excessive emotion or blind anger.
