韓国での抗議行動ピークに：Protest to Hit Peak in Korea

明白な日本との違い：Clear Difference From Japan

韓国の新聞報道（下のリンク参照）によると、今晩のキャンドル抗議集会はここ10年か20年来で最大規模になるであろうとのことである。韓国のあらゆる層の市民やネティズンたちが、李明博大統領の政策、特に米国からの牛肉輸入を許可する政策に反対する抗議行動を起こすという。韓国の新大統領は、まだ就任100日目というのに、支持率の急落に直面している。
他方、日本の福田首相も李大統領と同じくらい支持率が低くなっているが、日本で抗議行動はまったく見られない。これは日本と韓国の間で、ネティズンの行動が基本的に違うことから生じているといえるのかもしれない。

According to some Korean Newspapers (see the links above), tonight's candlelight demonstrations will probably become biggest in a decade or two, as "Korean netizens and citizens from all sectors of Korean society" will go out to protest against their newly elected President Lee Myung-bak. The Korean president has become very unpopular after his 100 days in office, partly because of the US beef import problem.
On the other hand, Japan's prime minister Yasuo Fukuda is as unpopular as the Korean president, but still there is no protest movement visible in Japan, probably due to fundamental differences in netizens' behavior between Japan and Korea.
