経済連携協定の相手は？：Economic Partnership with Whom?

情報発信ニュースレター9月号では、経済提携協定が取り上げており、日本はどこと経済連携を結ぶべきかという問いが発せられている。
現在日本はアジア諸国との経済連携協定の締結の可能性を探っているが、何人かの専門家（p.3に登場する本田敬吉氏を含む）は、むしろ日本と経済社会体制が似ている米国との経済連携協定をまず考えるべきと主張している。

In the September issue of our Newsletter, EPAs (Economic Partnership Agreements) are taken up and a question is raised as to whom Japan should conclude an economic partnership agreement with.
While Japan is currently seeking EPAs with Asian countries, some specialists (including Mr. Keikichi Honda on p.3) are advocating such an agreement to be concluded with the U.S., as Japan and the U.S. have similar socio-economic systems for an effective partnership agreement.
