日の丸検索エンジン？：All-Japan Search Engine?

本日の読売新聞の１面に「日の丸検索エンジン：官民で開発へ・グーグルに対抗」という記事が載っている。この件については以前から報道されているが（以下の参考記事を参照）、経産省が民間の企業や大学と協力して、グーグルやヤフーに対抗するような検索エンジンを開発するという。
ある意味でこれは信じられないことで、中国ならばともかく、日本で政府の息のかかった検索エンジンが開発されるとは・・・
誰がそのような検索エンジンを使って中立的で客観的な情報を得られると思うだろうか。

It is reported in today's Yomiuri Newspaper that METI will join private companies and universities to develop an "all-Japan" search engine to compete with Google and Yahoo. This has been reported for some time, but in a sense it is unbelievable that this kind of thing is being developed in Japan, NOT in China. Who would rely on a government-sponsored search engine to get neutral and objective information?
