米住宅低迷だが価格安定：US Housing Slow but Steady Prices

依然強い高級住宅市場：Still Robust High-end Market

4ヶ月前に本ブログで、南カリフォルニアの住宅販売は減少したが、住宅価格はかなりしっかりしていることをレポートした（下のリンク参照）。
本日のロサンゼルス・タイムズの記事（下のリンク参照）によれば、状況は依然として同じで、販売は減少（7月は1年前に比べて27％の下落）しているがが、価格は下がらずとのこと。その主な理由は、高級住宅市場の売買が活発なためで、低価格の住宅がサブプライム問題で悪影響を受けているのとは対照的である。

Four months ago, it was reported on this blog that Southern California home sales were down but their prices were holding fairly firm (see the link above).
Now, LA Times (see the link above) reports that the situation is still the same, that is, sales fell (27% down in July compared to a year ago) but prices holding in Southern California. This is mainly due to robust high-end home sales, while low-end housing may be adversely affected by the subprime problem.
