It looked as if it were an annual event, when it was reported that British police arrested more than 20 people who apparently had planned to blow up jet planes while flying from Britain to the U.S. Everyone is reminded of what happened in Britain last summer, and wondering why it occured again this summer, not winter, spring or fall. There may be some reason for this. First of all, heavily traveled summer time must be convenient for terrorists to step up their activity and try to kill many tourists at busy vacation spots. Second, police would prefer to tighten security and disrupt people's daily activity, if necessary, during the vacation period when many businesses are off. But most of all, everyone, especially police, should feel that something must be done to prevent the 9.11 disaster from happening again, so preventive measures are likely to be taken before September 11 comes around every year. This means that this kind of fuss may well become an annual summer event in Britain or elsewhere -- what a depressing thought!
