急成長する投資ファンド：Rapidly Growing Investment Funds

グローバルな株式市場のブーム：Booming Global Stock Market

本日の日経新聞（p. 7：下のリンク参照）に、世界の投資信託残高は2006年末で史上最高の21兆ドルを超え、前年末に比べて22％増えたという記事が載っている。このような急激な残高増は、世界の株式ブームの結果といえる。
また同じ日経の短いコラム（p. 3）によれば、世界のヘッジファンドの残高合計が約1.5兆ドルとなり、株式やその他の金融市場に流れ込んでいる。このヘッジファンドが主要国の株式ブームの一要因であることは明らかであろう。
したがって、これらのグローバルな投資ファンドが世界全体の経済の運命を決めるといえるのかもしれない。

Today's Nikkei reports (p. 7: see the link above) that the total balance of investment trusts in the global market hit a record high, exceeding 21 trillion US dollars at the end of 2006, 22% up from a year ago. This is mainly due to booming stock markets all over the world.
In the same issue of Nikkei, there is a short column (p. 3) showing that the total balance of hedge funds in the world was about 1.5 trillion US dollars, flowing into stocks and other financial markets. Clearly, these hedge funds are partly responsible for the current boom in major stock markets
It might be said, therefore, that these global investment funds are determining the fate of the global economy as a whole.
