本日夕方に日比谷のFCCJ（外国人記者クラブ）でワイン・ティスティング・パーティーが開かれた。安いテーブルワインから最高級のシャトーぺトラスまで色々なワインがあり、クラブ会員は1ダース以上を割引価格で買うことができる。参加者の多くの意見では、より値段が高いワインはもちろん味がいいが、高い価格に値するほどではないという結論で一致。
ワイン・ティスティングの後、FCCJのレストランでプロフェッショナルのグループに加わってディナーと会話を楽しんだ。話題は食糧危機問題から投資機会に関する情報まで多岐に渡った。
FCCJはプロフェッショナルたちがお互いに知り合って交流するための場として最高といえよう。

This evening there was a year-end wine tasting party held at FCCJ (Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan) in Hibiya, and various wines, from cheap table wine to the most expensive Chateau Petrus, were served for FCCJ members to buy in dozen at a discount.
Many participants agreed that more expensive wines tasted better alright, but not so much as to justify the higher prices.
After the wine tasting, I joined a group of professionals for dinner at the FCCJ restaurant, and enjoyed exchanging information and opinions with them on various matters, from food crises to investment opportunities.
FCCJ is certainly a great place for social interaction and networking among professional people.
