温暖化で開花早まる：Flowers Bloom Earlier Due to Global Warming

ヒートアイランド現象も要因：Also for Heat Island Phenomenon

本日の「毎日.jp」の記事（下のリンク参照）によると、地球温暖化の影響で、桜の開花時期が早まる傾向にあるという。実際に気象庁による最近の研究が示すところでは、過去50年間で桜の開花は4.2日ほど早くなったとのこと。
しかも東京、名古屋、大阪のような大都市では、「ヒートアイランド現象」のために、さらにこの傾向は強まり、6.1日も早くなっている。
もちろんこの状況は桜に限らず、他の花にも見られる現象で、それは環境を汚染する人間に対する自然の警告とみなすべきであろう。

It is reported in today's Mainichi.jp article (see the link above) that cherry blossoms bloom earlier due to global warming. In fact, it has become earlier by about 4.2 days over the past 50 years, according to a recent study by the Meteorologicval Agency.
It has become even earlier in big cities like Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, by about 6.1 days due to the "heat island" phenomenon.
Of course, this is not limited to cherry blossoms, but is also the case with other kinds of flowers -- a nature's warning to the human beings who pollute the environment.
