餃子事件での日中協力：Japan-China Cooperation on Gyoza Incident

弁明も非難も不必要：No Need For Execuses or Accusations

本日の「Japan Times」の記事（下のリンク参照）によると、今回中国製ギョーザ中毒問題について「天洋食品」の底夢路工場長が2日に記者会見を行い、日本での中毒問題に驚いており、自分の工場の食品はすべて内部のテストをクリアしたという。
またこの工場長はさらに、「工場のすべてのメンバーを代表して日本の被害者にお見舞い申し上げ、入院した方が早く回復することをお祈りする」、また「我々は捜査に真摯に協力していくつもりである」と述べたと報じられている。
現状では工場長としてはこれが精一杯の弁明であったと思われが、今必要なのは、中国側の言い訳でも、日本側からの非難でもない。
日本と中国は直ちに協力して何が起こったのかを明らかにし、再発防止のために何をなすべきかを決めて実行することではないだろうか。

It is reported in today's Japan Times article (see the link above) that at a news conference yesterday, Di Menglu, head of the factory owned by Tianyang Food, spoke about the Gyoza food-poisoning incident that "he was extremely surprised by the incident and his company's products have all cleared internal testing."
Di also said "on behalf of all factory workers, we offer our condolences to the Japanese consumers and hope for the early recovery of the people who fell ill" and "we plan to cooperate with investigations in a sincere manner," according to this article.
This sounds like an acceptable response from the factory head at this point, given the circumstances, but what is necessary is neither excuses on the China side or accusations from the Japan side.
Instead, Japan and China should cooperate swiftly to find out what really happened and what to do to prevent this kind of incident from happening again.
